Who we are

Kensington and Chelsea, London (https://kensingtonandchelsea.london) is an independent site. We are the data controller for the personal information described here.

Contact us about anything in this notice at hello@kensingtonandchelsea.london.

Reading the guide

You can read the guide without an account. We measure how the site is used so we can improve it:

  • Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count page views and measure loading speed. They set no cookies and don't identify you; visits are counted in aggregate.
  • Google Analytics records pages visited, how you arrived, your device and browser, and your approximate location. It sets cookies, so it runs only if you accept analytics cookies. Change your cookie choice at any time.
  • Maps on listing, venue and restaurant pages are provided by Google Maps. When a map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving the site, and your consent for Google Analytics.

Enquiries and table requests

When you contact an estate agent, landlord, venue or restaurant through the site, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, your message, and, for events and tables, the date, time, party size, event type and budget you enter.

  • We pass it to the business you chose so they can reply. That business then uses it under its own privacy notice, as a separate controller.
  • Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in connecting you with the business you asked us to contact, at your request.
  • We delete enquiries and table requests automatically 24 months after you send them.
  • To prevent spam we limit how many enquiries one email address can send, and we may block automated submissions.

Business accounts

If you run a business account, we collect your name, email address and phone number, your business's details (including redress scheme and client money protection numbers for agencies), the listings, venues and restaurants you publish, and a record of changes made on the account.

  • We use it to provide the service, check businesses before they publish, show your public details on the site, and keep the service secure. Our lawful bases are our contract with you and our legitimate interest in keeping listings accurate and lawful.
  • Sign-in links are sent to your email address; signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in.
  • We keep account details while the account is open. When it closes we delete them, except records we must keep to meet legal obligations or deal with claims.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers, who act on our instructions:

  • Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage, hosted in London.
  • Vercel: website hosting, Web Analytics and Speed Insights.
  • Google: Analytics (with your consent) and Maps.
  • postcodes.io: checking business postcodes are in the borough. No personal information about visitors is sent.

We also share enquiries with the business you contact, as described above, and may disclose information where the law requires it. We don't sell personal information.

Vercel and Google may process information in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you or another organisation in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@kensingtonandchelsea.london and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this notice

We'll update this notice when what we do changes, and show the date at the top. If a change affects business accounts, we'll tell account holders by email.
