The Design Museum is devoted to contemporary design in every form, from architecture and fashion to graphics, product and industrial design. Housed in a 1960s modernist building transformed in 2016, it has a sweeping wooden roof over its central atrium. The permanent collection Designer Maker User is free; paid exhibitions change through the year. Through 4 October 2026 the headline show is NIGO: From Japan with Love. From 2 October, Es Devlin: Other Worlds is the first European museum retrospective of the artist and stage designer. Free displays on Level 1 and 2 currently include PLATFORM: Simone Brewster.
